Use the clues to choose which shoes are whose!

Room 4 has been learning about PAIRS of things in maths. We can count in 2s and decided to count our shoes!

Read Halasika, Cognac and Ocyan's descriptions of their shoes and scroll down to the pictures below to see if you can figure out which shoes belong to each child.

The boys drew their shoes by observing carefully the detail on them. They used pencil first and then coloured them with Jovi crayons. The children spent a long time getting the fine details correct.
All the children in Room 4 drew and described their shoes. They are displayed on the wall outside our classroom if you want to come and see them.

Healthy Fruit Salad

Room 4 was learning about how to keep our bodies healthy. We learnt that eating fruit is helpful in staying healthy.

Read Tulialo and Zealand's recounts of how Room 4 made a healthy fruit salad one Friday afternoon.

The children all had a job to do. They loved trying 6 different kinds of fruit. Yummy!

How far can your paper aeroplane fly?

We made paper aeroplanes and estimated how far they could fly. Then we tested them by throwing and measuring the distance they flew.

The students knew that 1m is the same as 100cm. They used a metre ruler to estimate and measure the distance of their throws.

As you can see, Satui was spot on! Miss Letcher threw her plane the furthest (she has longer arms than the children so it wasn't fair! )

The children learned how to fold the paper aeroplanes, how to throw them, and how to estimate and measure using metres. We had heaps of fun doing all this learning!
